Whose Track is That?

Location of James River State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Green Hill Pond: 185 Green Hill Dr; Gladstone, VA 24553
Main Park Address: James River State Park, 104 Green Hill Dr., Gladstone, VA 24553.

When

April 4, 2026. 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Just because we don’t always spot them, we know the animals are around by the tracks and traces they leave behind. We will take a look at the different animal tracks you might find here in the park and the possible clues that might help you figure out what was walking about when you weren’t looking. At the end we'll make a plaster mold of an animal track you can take home as a keepsake.

Please meet at Green Hill Pond. All materials provided. Suitable for all ages. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and bring a water bottle with you. Parks are for everyone, please let us know if you need special accommodation.

For more information, please call (434) 933-8527 or email Tess.Himelspach@dcr.virginia.gov.
