Program Location: The Boat Ramp at 64th Street
Main Park Address: First Landing State Park, 2500 Shore Dr., Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

When

Jan. 1, 2026. 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Bundle up for a seasonal adventure into the salt marshes of First Landing State Park! Starting at the 64th Street boat ramp, we’ll hop aboard a wagon and catch a ride to the Cape Henry Trail. From there, we’ll explore the salt marsh on foot, walking 1.5 miles back to the boat ramp along Cape Henry Trail while learning about the unique ecology of this coastal habitat.

Along the way, keep your eyes peeled for winter migratory birds that call the marsh home during the colder months like buffleheads, bald eagles, and herons. This hike offers a peaceful blend of nature, wildlife, and winter beauty, perfect for birders, families, and curious hikers alike.
