March 29, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

The story of a man who lived life on a stage of his own making, this program dives into the sweeping presence of John B. Gordon, a commander whose charisma could command attention before he even spoke. Visitors will meet a figure celebrated for courage, remembered for flair, and surrounded by stories that grew taller with every retelling. We pull back the curtain on the orator, the politician, the showman, and the soldier, revealing how Gordon shaped his own legend as carefully as any battlefield decision. This is an invitation to step into the world of a man who understood better than most how to turn a life into a legacy. Speak to a ranger in the Visitor Center to start this program anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
