National Trails Day

Celebrate National Trails Day by tagging along with a ranger for a tree-tastic identification walk. Explore the Indian Ridge Trail and discover towering cedars to wide spreading oaks. Along the way, discover fun and surprising facts about the animals that call these trees home.
This easy-to-moderate hike is just 0.7 miles of leafy fun.
Participants must wear closed-toe, closed-heel, comfortable shoes (No sandals, flip flops, crocs, or high heels.)
About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
