From Indigenous connections to modern conservation, the bald eagle’s journey reflects the link between people and nature and how protecting natural resources preserves both cultural heritage and wildlife.

The purpose of the Mason Neck Eagle Festival is to inspire stewardship and conservation by connecting visitors to the natural and cultural history of Mason Neck and the diverse ecosystems the park supports. Through education, hands-on experiences, and community engagement, the festival highlights the importance of protecting cultural resources, wildlife habitat, clean waterways, and open spaces so eagles and all native species can thrive for generations to come.
