We can tell a great deal about an animal’s adaptations by looking at their skins and skulls. Have you ever wondered how beavers stay dry? Or how a deer communicates with other in the herd? You'll spend time learning about different animals that live in the park by examining them hands-on. Come discover about the physical and behavioral adaptations of the animals in James River State Park! We also have a fun game to play to test your skills.

Please meet at Canoe Landing. All materials provided. Suitable for all ages. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and bring a water bottle with you. Parks are for everyone, please let us know if you need special accommodation.
