March Volunteer Workday: Native Tree Planting

Location of Claytor Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Birch/Cedar Campground Overflow Parking Lot
Main Park Address: Claytor Lake State Park, 6620 Ben H. Bolen Dr., Dublin, VA 24084.

When

March 21, 2026. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Celebrate International Day of Forests with a native tree planting. Volunteers will meet at the Birch/Cedar Campground Overflow Parking Lot and will walk over to the yurts in Birch Campground. We will be planting various native trees to join the next generation of forests. No experience is needed, and all supplies will be provided.

Each month, volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join a project that helps improve and maintain our beautiful park. Projects vary monthly and may include trail maintenance, park beautification, litter cleanup, or special volunteer activities. This is a great opportunity to get outside, meet new people, and give back to the park you love.

Please bring sunscreen, wear closed-toe shoes, and don’t forget to bring water. Together, we can make a real difference at Claytor Lake State Park. If you have any questions, please email Hannah.Wetzel@dcr.virginia.gov.
