'Caching with the Corps

Where
Program Location: CCC Field
Main Park Address: Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.
When
March 28, 2026. 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Grab your GPS (or smartphone) and step back in time to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). This family-friendly geocaching adventure will have explorers of all ages discovering the legacy of the CCC: the hardworking young men who helped shape our park during the Great Depression.
As you search for hidden caches throughout the field where their camp was, you’ll uncover stories, clues, and fun facts about CCC life, from building trails and bridges to planting trees that still shade us today. It’s part treasure hunt, part history lesson, and all outdoor fun, so lace up your boots, follow the coordinates, and see how a little exploring can reveal a big piece of park history.
