Join us in opening our newest trail for National Trails Day, followed by the first guided hike on the trail! Our newest trail is the first to go through the center of the park, wandering through the noble long leaf pine stand. Come see our rangers and volunteers hard work, learn a little about the process of building a trail, and see the new sights!

About National Trails Day

On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
