Reptile Rangers: Hisstopher and Harrold

Location of Holliday Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Park Office
Main Park Address: Holliday Lake State Park, 2759 State Park Rd., Appomattox, VA 24522.

When

March 21, 2026. 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Our animal ambassadors Hisstopher and Harrold want to meet you! Hisstopher is a corn snake and Harrold is a painted turtle. Come by the Park Office to meet our reptile rangers and learn the similarities and differences between them.

Hisstopher is currently in brumation, a hibernation-like state, so he will stay in his enclosure. We may still observe him moving around a bit in this state, however, as it is not quite true hibernation. Harrold is still active during the winter, and we will take him out for a little "Turtle Time." You'll get the chance to see him up close and even give his scutes a scratch.

Perfect for families and nature enthusiasts, this program promises a fun and educational experience for all ages.
