Bring your family to Pocahontas State Park to celebrate National Kids to Parks Day. Join us for a day full of hands-on activities. Complete three of the activities to complete a Junior Ranger book and be sworn in by a park ranger.

Backyard Bass (10:00-11:00 a.m.): Practice your casting and reeling in the grass. We provide the fishing poles and plastic fish for this competitive game. There is no actual fishing during this activity, so no fishing license is required. This game is fun for all ages.

Youth Bike Clinic & Ride (9:00-11 a.m.) Join us  for a youth bike clinic covering basic trail etiquette and simple bike maintenance tips. A short group ride will follow, with groups for balance bikes and pedal bikes as needed.

Crafts Table (11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.)

Fire Starters (12:00-1:00 p.m.): Learn basic campfire safety and make easy, customizable fire starters. This program is suitable for all ages; we've got all the materials you will need.

Creepy Crawlies (2:00-3:00 p.m.): These creatures might give you the creeps, but they play crucial roles in our ecosystem. Come learn why they're nature's hidden heroes.
