June 6, 2026. 8:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Step onto the trail and journey through layers of history as you explore a landscape shaped by land, labor, and legacy. Beginning June 6, a self-guided hike invites you to discover historic homestead buildings and iconic park features while uncovering the stories they hold.
Using a guided brochure, available at trailheads at the main entrance and the Visitor Center, this adventure highlights the people, places, and stories that shaped the landscape you see today. Along the way, GPS coordinates will be provided for participants to enter into Google Maps or a geocaching app to help guide their route and learn even more. Locate the hidden geocaches to uncover additional information about the landmarks and legacies found throughout the park (optional).
Bring your curiosity, your sense of adventure, and your walking shoes — history is waiting along the trail. Please note: the trail does include moderately steep and rocky sections and is not suitable for strollers.
