Where

Program Location: CCC Trail Trailhead
Main Park Address: Hungry Mother State Park, 2854 Park Blvd., Marion, VA 24354.

When

Sept. 12, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

In honor of National Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, join us for an educational, yet thrilling trek. Together, we will learn about how to pack for a hike and then travel 2.5 miles with a ranger while learning about different plants and animals and how they interact. Learn how to use field guides and phone apps to correctly identify indicator organisms. Then sit for a spell and journal about what you have observed. Bring water, a snack and your favorite journal. This program is open to everyone, not just Girl Scouts. If you are a Girl Scout, and you do all activities, you can receive the Eco Badge that coordinates with your grade level.
