Knowing how to be prepared in the wild is a skill we should all be equipped with. Join the rangers and help set up a miniature campsite, learning the seven principles of Leave No Trace. Learn how to pitch a tent, build a fire and let’s do some campfire cooking together. This program is open to everyone, not just Girl Scouts. If you are a Girl Scout, and you do all activities, you can receive the Eco Badge that coordinates with your grade level.

About Girl Scouts Love State Parks

Every September, during Girl Scouts Love State Parks weekend, Virginia State Parks offers a variety of programs to connect Girl Scouts with nature while earning badges. From guided hikes and plant identification to campfire building and backpacking basics, this special weekend helps Girl Scouts learn outdoor skills, build confidence and become advocates for the environment.
