Join a ranger on a walk around Oxbow Lake for National Kids to Parks Day! Come enjoy the beautiful views at Oxbow Lake. On this walk we will be talking about the lake and what lives in it, or what kind of animals use the lake, and what the importance is in having the lake. Meeting for this program will be at the Sugar Hill Trail Head; Oxbow Lake trail is connected to this trail head. Please wear closed toed shoes and bring water and snacks as we will be walking! We hope to see you there!

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
