Commemorate National Trails Day with a more secluded walk in the woods.  Named for a native, non-venomous snake, the Hognose Trail has a hiking only section that rewards guests with a spectacular view of the York and access to Fossil Beach and the Living Shoreline.

About National Trails Day

On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day®, an annual event sponsored by the American Hiking Society encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
