Turtle Hike

Location of Pocahontas State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Visitor Center
Main Park Address: Pocahontas State Park, 10301 State Park Rd., Chesterfield, VA 23832.

When

April 2, 2026. 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Come have a 'turtle-ly' awesome Thursday. Join a ranger for a short, easy-paced hike as we search for turtles along trails and near the water’s edge. As we walk, we’ll learn how to spot turtles basking in the sun, discover which species call the park home, and talk about why turtles are so important to healthy ecosystems.

This gentle, 0.5-mile hike is perfect for families and curious nature lovers of all ages. Bring your patience, your observation skills, and a little turtle-speed luck as we see who’s hiding in plain sight! Be sure to wear sturdy shoes, pack water/snacks, and dress for the weather.
