May 2, 2026. 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Let's make a difference together by participating in Clean the Bay Day at Holliday Lake, nestled within the stunning Chesapeake Bay Watershed. Join us as we come together to protect and preserve the beauty of our beloved lake and the surrounding environment.
To support our volunteers, we're offering free parking passes and clean-up supplies. Simply visit a ranger at the Office or the Boathouse to sign in and collect your supplies and parking pass. Take a stroll along the shoreline and lend a helping hand by picking up litter, bring your own water vessel and assist in cleaning up the lake from the water itself, or meet at the Boathouse to borrow one of our boats (boats are limited).
Participants may walk up to either clean-up site without registering, but registration is preferred to help us ensure we have enough supplies for everyone. Please visit The Chesapeake Bay Foundation website to register at Holliday Lake State Park.
Every small action makes a big impact in safeguarding the health of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.

About Clean the Bay Day
Each year Virginia State Parks participates in the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day, an event dedicated to protecting and preserving the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Park visitors are invited to join a clean-up to help remove litter, debris and pollution from rivers, streams and shorelines that feed into the Bay, contributing to the health of the Bay’s ecosystem and ensuring cleaner water and safer habitats for wildlife.
