Celebrate National Kids to Parks Day at Chippokes State Park!

Have you ever played a fierce and competitive game of tag? How about...hide-and-seek, hopscotch, yo-yo, puzzles, dominoes, marbles, pick-up sticks, jump rope, spinning tops, leap frog, card decks, dice, and dolls?

Join a park ranger to learn about a few selected ancient and traditional colonial games played by Virginia's past residents. Have fun playing the games that children chose for entertainment back in the day before video games or smart phones. Meet on the grounds of the Jones-Stewart Mansion.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
