Hiking, biking, or walking with family on this National Trails Day? It's important to remember a few key points to protect wildlife, preserve trails, and ensure everyone has a positive park experience. Meet interpreters outside the Visitor Center, and we will cover a few simple tips for sharing the trail. The interpreters will even suggest a few of our favorite trails that fit your needs. Mason Neck has over 9 miles of trails and several miles of accessible trails, and is one of 6 parks in the system with an All-Terrain Wheelchair. About National Trails Day
On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
