National Trails Day provides an opportunity for all outdoor enthusiasts to venture out onto their favorite trails for exercise and wellness. First Landing has 20 miles of trails, so before blazing ahead, be sure to grab a trail map to enhance your experience. While hiking, keep your eye out for a Ranger posted at the Cape Henry Trailheads closest to the Trail Center and 64th Street entrances. Visit their remote outposts to discover the unique habitats these trails traverse and get answers to all your burning questions about the park. Happy Trails!

About National Trails Day

On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 44 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
