Archery 101 at Kids Love Parks Fair

Take your first shot at Archery 101, a beginner-friendly workshop perfect for curious kids and families eager to try something new. Our rangers will guide you step-by-step through the basics of the sport, from essential safety practices to finding your draw length and learning simple shooting techniques.

Whether you’ve never picked up a bow before or just want to see what archery is all about, this hands-on session makes it easy for everyone to join in. Come give archery a try and discover what you can do!

Please meet at Shelter #3. All materials provided. Suitable for all ages. Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for the weather and bring a water bottle with you. Parks are for everyone, please let us know if you need special accommodation.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
