Celebrate Earth Week by giving back to your park and making a positive impact on the environment!

Join park staff for a fun, hands-on volunteer projects designed to support and improve the park’s natural resources. Activities throughout the week may include trail work, litter cleanup, habitat improvement, planting projects, or other stewardship efforts that help keep the park healthy and beautiful.

Whether you attend one day or multiple days, your time and effort will make a meaningful difference. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, families, students, scout groups, and community organizations to get involved, enjoy the outdoors, and learn more about environmental stewardship.

No experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Bringing water, sunscreen, and work gloves is recommended. Tools and guidance will be provided.

About Earth Day

In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, Virginia State Parks offers a range of special events and activities highlighting the importance of conservation and sustainability. Visitors are invited to participate in educational programs, guided nature walks, wildlife observation, tree plantings and service projects to help preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the state’s 44 parks.
