Where

Program Location: Playground Parking Lot
Main Park Address: Powhatan State Park, 4616 Powhatan State Park Rd., Powhatan, VA 23139.

When

May 25, 2026. 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Join us on the park's first historical hike to the park's cabin ruins on Cabin Trail! Using new historical research, your park ranger guide will share the story of the park's land and how the historic stone and brick cabin foundation fits into its fascinating history.

What to expect:
Be prepared to walk on a forested, out-and-back trail for about 2 miles total. The trail is mostly flat with a shallow incline. We will move at a relaxed pace. Bring water and wear comfortable walking shoes. Friendly dogs are welcome and must be on a 6-foot leash. This trail cannot be accessed by the park's all-terrain wheelchair. If you'd like to bring a stroller, all-terrain strollers are recommended.

While registration is not required for this program, it is recommended. If you register, we will be able to contact you if the program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
