Explore the park with a leaf identification scavenger hunt. The park ranger will assist you in identifying common tree species that inhabit the park. Leaves will be identified and collected for a special purpose. You will create your own artistic masterpiece by rubbing the leaves you identify. This activity is a fun and engaging way to become more familiar with the trees that help sustain life on our planet.

About National Kids to Parks Day

Virginia State Parks celebrates National Kids to Parks Day on the third Saturday in May by offering a variety of fun, family-friendly activities, from nature scavenger hunts and ranger-led hikes to fishing clinics and flora and fauna wagon rides. This annual event encourages kids to explore the outdoors while learning about wildlife and engaging in hands-on environmental education.
