Location of Sweet Run State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Interpretive Center
Main Park Address: Sweet Run State Park, 11661 Harpers Ferry Road, Hillsboro, VA 20132.

When

May 27, 2026. 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Young Naturalists are invited to explore how water helped families and communities long ago — and how we care for it today. Through simple stories and hands-on activities at the Interpretive Center, children will learn why water is important for people, plants, and animals, both then and now. Parents or guardians must stay with their child during the program. All ages are welcome; however, this program is geared toward kids ages 3-8. Parents must stay with their young naturalists. Join Park Interpreters as we discover how the community and animals stayed warm, cozy and entertained during long winter days. Wear comfortable shoes that are good for a short walk and meet at the Interpretive Center.
