June Volunteer Workday: Post-Festival Park Cleanup

Location of Claytor Lake State Park in Virginia

Where

Program Location: Beach Building
Main Park Address: Claytor Lake State Park, 6620 Ben H. Bolen Dr., Dublin, VA 24084.

When

June 14, 2026. 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

We need your help cleaning up our park the day after the Claytor Lake Festival. Learn about how pollution can spread in an aquatic environment and help us protect ourselves and our wildlife by cleaning up our shoreline. Gloves and trash grabbers will be available to use.

Each month, volunteers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to work together on a project that helps improve and maintain our beautiful park. Projects vary each month and may include tasks like trail maintenance, park beautification, litter cleanup, or special volunteer projects. This is a great opportunity to get outside, meet new people, and give back to the park you love.

No experience is necessary, and all tools and supplies are provided. Please bring sunscreen, wear closed-toe shoes, and don't forget some water. Whether you can stay for 20 minutes or the full event, every helping hand makes a difference. We're coming together to keep our shoreline clean, safe and beautiful. Please email Hannah.Wetzel@dcr.virginia.gov if you have any questions.
