Join us for a geocaching adventure at Shenandoah River!

Geocaching is an outdoor activity in which you use a GPS or app to find containers known as “caches” — basically treasure chests! We will embark on a short hike to find a few geocaches in the park. On the way, we will go over proper geocaching etiquette, including respect for nature and fellow explorers, as well as following the “Leave No Trace” principle. Lastly, we will decorate a small craft that can be left inside future caches.

This event is intended for families with children ages 7-13. The hike will be about 1 mile on moderate terrain with some incline.

Parks for everyone. Please let us know if you need special accommodations. For more information about this program, please email crystal.jewett@dcr.virginia.gov or call (540) 622-2262. Geocaching
