Come and discover the majestic aerial hunters and their habitats. Bald eagles, red shouldered and red tailed hawks make their home here year round. Osprey return to the area to feed and breed. We may find other birds of prey as well as we hike through the woods and into the marshes.

Have you ever wondered what sort of fish and other creatures live in the York River's brackish waters? Visit the friendly neighborhood park ranger who has examples of fish and shellfish families. An aquarium & terrariums will be available to discover these live creatures. As a bonus, try your hand at casting for some plastic fish in an imaginary estuary and catch something unique.

We offer two sessions of the Nature Explorers in July (children who have completed Kindergarten* through 2nd grades) to introduce younger campers to unique creatures and basic outdoor activities. Our Junior Rangers (one session in August for children who have completed 3rd through 5th grades) will be more engaged in wildlife mapping and outdoor skills. Registration begins February 10th. Cost is $40 per child.
