Join us this Public Lands Day at Westmoreland State Park where we plan to tackle our Visitor Center Butterfly Garden as a special volunteer project!   No experience is necessary to help us with this important green space initiative and all those above the age of 9 years old are encouraged to join in!  Please bring basic gardening hand tools, gloves, water (refillable), and snacks/lunch.

Happy Trails is the name of our park staff and volunteer collaboration to help keep the trails (over seven miles) in tip-top condition for all guests to enjoy throughout the changing seasons.

Walk on the "Wild Side" and get familiar with the Fossil Record of the Horsehead Cliffs that have made Westmoreland County infamous and fossiliferous.  What observations, evidence and conclusions can we draw of an ancient past from these fossil findings?

Art in the Park is a program Westmoreland State Park snagged from the Friends of False Cape State Park!  This program is designed to get individuals outdoors, connecting with wildlife, plants, landscapes, scenery, and critters and creating art within the boundaries of a Virginia State Park.

Westmoreland State Park was one of the first six state parks developed in Virginia by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the 1930s.

Join us this 2nd Saturday of the month at Westmoreland State Park where we plan to tackle our Visitor Center Garden Beds and Murphy Hall Garden Beds.
