Williamsburg—Construction is set to begin at York River State Park on Monday, Sept. 11 and is scheduled to finish at the end of February 2024.
This construction project will remove accumulated sediment in the boat launch channel and demolition of three fixed timber piers including piles and constructing two new fixed timber piers as well as 30’ long aluminum gangway and an approximately 6’x42’ accessible floating dock and associated site work, including accessible parking, and concrete walkway is also included in the project.
“We are excited to have a new boat ramp for our guests in the 2024 season,” said York River State Park Manager Charlie Whalen. “The ramp will be more accessible for all and meet ADA standards.”
The fishing dock will be open during this time, but the boat ramp area will not be accessible.
