CLARKSVILLE, Va. – Occoneechee State Park is partnering with its friends group for Music in the Park, a new four-part series featuring local musicians.
Music in the Park will be held at the park’s outdoor amphitheater and kicks off on May 25 with an open mic night from 6 to 8 p.m. Local artists and visitors are invited to bring their instruments to the park for an evening of community fun.
On June 29, local pickers will entertain guests with an eclectic selection of country, rock and bluegrass music. Then on July 27, the ThirtySixThirty Band will take the stage, playing a mix of country and southern rock. The Tobacco Road Band, which blends blues, country and southern rock and roll, will wrap up the series on Aug. 24.
"We are thrilled to introduce Music in the Park as a new addition to our diverse array of programming at Occoneechee State Park," said Park Manager Chris Doss. "This initiative not only enriches the park experience for our visitors but also highlights the rich cultural heritage and talent within our local community."
Music in the Park is free to attend; however, the regular parking fee applies. The open mic night and the evening with local area pickers will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. The ThirtySixThirty Band and The Tobacco Road Band will play from 6 to 9 p.m.
Music in the Park is made possible through the generous support of the Friends of Occoneechee State Park and VFW Post 8163.
