Albert Hash Memorial Festival returns to Grayson Highlands State Park

MOUTH OF WILSON, Va. – Grayson Highlands State Park will host the annual Albert Hash Memorial Festival on Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This beloved festival celebrates the life and legacy of the renowned Appalachian fiddle maker and musician Albert Hash and honors the rich musical heritage of Southwest Virginia. 

The Albert Hash Memorial Festival has grown to become a cornerstone event in the region, drawing musicians and visitors from near and far. Attendees can expect a day filled with live bluegrass, old-time and folk music performances, showcasing the talents of local and regional artists who continue to carry the torch of traditional Appalachian music. 

Event highlights include: 

  • Performances from Whitetop Mountain Band, Wayne Henderson & Friends, Crooked Road Ramblers, Larry Sigmon & The VA Girls, Martha Spencer & The Wonderland Country Band with Archer, Carson Peters & Iron Mountain, Konnarock Critters, Gap Civil and Kudzu Ramblers. 
  • Instrument makers. 
  • Food and craft vendors. 

"We are thrilled to host the Albert Hash Memorial Festival once again, a celebration that not only honors Albert Hash's remarkable contributions to our musical heritage but also brings our community together in a spirit of joy and tradition," said Grayson Highlands State Park Manager Marci Holland. "This festival is a testament to the enduring legacy of Appalachian music and the vibrant culture of our region." 

The Albert Hash Memorial Festival is a family-friendly event and will be held rain or shine. Admission is $10 per person, and the standard parking fee of $10 per vehicle is required. Attendees are invited to bring chairs, umbrellas and blankets.
