Twayblade Tour
Orchids are one of the most charistmatic groups of Virginia's unique biodiversity. Southern Twayblade (
Listera australis) is an infrequently encountered species and Virginia's earliest flowering (and probably smallest) native orchid. Mainly restricted to the Coastal Plain, this will be a chance to see a slightly disjunct population in the Piedmont with one of the Commonwealth's most knowledgeable orchid enthusiasts and long-time staff member of DNH.
