Join us at Douthat State Park for our Monthly Volunteer Workday as we celebrate both National Trails Day and Clean the Bay Day. This month, volunteers can choose how they’d like to give back: help maintain our scenic trails by clearing debris and trimming vegetation or assist with protecting our waterways by picking up trash around the lake and Wilson Creek. No experience is needed, and all ages are welcome. This is a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, meet like-minded volunteers, and make a lasting impact on the park’s trails and waterways.

All tools and supplies are provided. Please bring work gloves and eye protection if you have them, wear closed-toe shoes, and bring water. Help us keep Douthat State Park a welcoming and wonderful place for everyone to enjoy! You can email Hannah.Johnson@dcr.virginia.gov with questions.

About National Trails Day

On the first Saturday of June, Virginia State Parks celebrates National Trails Day, an annual event encouraging outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels to explore hiking, biking and equestrian trails. Virginia’s 43 state parks offer guided hikes, trail maintenance workshops and volunteer opportunities to highlight trail stewardship and the importance of preserving trails for future generations.
