Would you like to have the chance to explore the trails in Powhatan State Park and meet new people? If so, you may enjoy our hiking series. Each month we will hike a different trail in the park and learn about local history and wildlife.
Please wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks. Trails vary from 2.5-4 miles through both open meadow and forest. Dress for the weather and be prepared to hike for 2-3 hours over uneven terrain.
Coyote Run Trail: 4 miles, mostly flat through primarily open meadows and a few patches of forest.
Turkey-River-Gold Dust Trails: 2.5 miles, partially flat with several moderate hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
Cabin-Big Woods Trails: 4 miles, partially flat with a few moderate hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
Big Woods-Pine Trails: 3 miles, mostly flat with a few gentle hills through primarily forest and some open meadow.
