A Letter of Map Change (LOMC) is a letter which reflects an official change to an effective Flood Insurance Rate Map. LOMCs are issued in response to a request of FEMA to revise or amend its effective flood map to remove a property or reflect changed flooding conditions on the effective map.
FEMA Region III, in coordination with the Virginia Department of Conservation & Recreation, is offering an in-person training to floodplain managers and other community officials involved in submitting LOMC applications for map amendments and revisions. The goal of the training is to gain or reinforce a working knowledge of FEMA’s LOMC processes and options.
This training will be an all-day session with a break for lunch (not provided). Participants who are Certified Floodplain Managers (CFM) are eligible to receive Continuing Education Credit(s).
