Description:
In the face of increased flooding nationwide, new products and technologies can help protect properties and facilities against flood damage. For the consumer, it is important that flood abatement products work as advertised. For manufacturers with promising solutions, it is important that these products can be introduced to consumers. For floodplain managers and code officials, it is critical to be aware of the technology trends and products that are available in the marketplace and that may be incorporated into projects that will be reviewed and permitted.
One of ASFPM’s newest programs is the National Flood Barrier Testing and Certification Program. Along with ASFPM’s program partners, FM Approvals and the US Army Corps of Engineers, the Program seeks to ensure that flood abatement products are tested, certified, and made available to communities, businesses, and homeowners. The program’s website nationalfloodbarrier.org a one-stop-shop to review tested and certified products that carry the FM Diamond. The program uses the ANSI/FM Approvals 2510 standard for products. Join this webinar to learn more about the program, including its history, as well as the certification standard, and the types of products that are certified.
