Currently, there are funds for a direct-pay program offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
All golf courses with a nutrient management plan expiring in 2020 or before are eligible to participate in this grant. If you have questions about eligibility, contact DCR's Urban Nutrient Management Specialist, Gonzalo Ortiz, Gonzalo.Ortiz@dcr.virginia.gov, Cell: 804-217-2010.
Contact a turf and landscape certified planner (PDF) and inquire about the direct-pay program. The contractors are paid $10 per acre to write nutrient management plans for land maintained by the golf course. This $10 per-acre grant may not cover the entire cost to write the plan.
Ask your grant contract planner. They should be able to break down the costs of the plan for you.
